Sweet Karolina

I'd love a pair of Kate Spade 'Karolina' heels in every colour available online right now.  Which is your favourite?

Barbie's got style

I am currently researching Barbie dolls... trying to figure out whether a Disney Princess Barbie actually exists, because that it was what my 4 year old niece told me she wants for Christmas.  I haven't had any luck finding a Disney Princess Barbie, but I did discover the Barbie Fashion Model collection.  Seriously, when did Barbie become so stylish?  I want both of these outfits in my size!

Noël en noir et blanc

There are five weeks left before Christmas.  I have been quite organised with my Christmas shopping this year and I even bought my Christmas cards today.  Next on the list will be decorating the house, but that's still a couple of weeks away.  For now, here is some lovely black and white Christmas decor inspiration from papermash.  I may need to buy one of the make your own banner kits.

Geranium restaurant in Copenhagen

I just discovered the work of Jessica Vedel and I love her understated style.  Here is a recent work from her portfolio: Geranium restaurant in Copenhagen.  This space is so elegant and exactly my style.

Josh's Café, Berrima

Harry and I drove down to Berrima in the Southern Highlands yesterday to check out a wedding venue.  We had lunch at Josh's Café.  The food was amazing!  This is what we ate.

Harry's entrée: homemade falafels

My entrée: pulled pork neck with papaya salad

Harry's main: eggplant, lamb and goats cheese stack

My main: homemade cheese and spinach tortellini

Harry's dessert: Turkish delight and strawberry cheesecake

My dessert: chocolate samosas

It's a cute little café too.  I love the black and white striped awning over the verandah.

Christmas gift ideas: Oroton sale

If you're planning on getting some Christmas shopping done this weekend, Oroton still has 50% off everything in store for the next 2 days.  Here are my picks for pretty stocking fillers, all of which are currently under $50.

For a safe option, choose classic pieces in muted colours, pretty scents and pearls...

...or for something a little more fun, choose bright colours, bows, hearts and sparkles.

I bought gifts for my sister-in-law and a friend also a few gifts for myself (my personal choices below... I seem to be accumulating animal prints and sparkly jewels at the moment).

If you're not already a member, simply sign up in-store or online.  Oroton now ships internationally too.

Mimco Christmas packaging

I love Mimco's Christmas packaging.

Kraft bags with gold lettering, neon handles and colourful masks... I think somebody needs a Christmas present from Mimco.

On my nails right now...

...Oroton nail polish in pink lightning and gold mesh top coat.

My nails are quite short at the moment as I destroyed them sanding and painting last weekend, but I love this colour combo.

One of those mornings

My day started with a coffee machine that didn't want to work, a spilled bag of ground espresso and cold burnt raisin toast.  Now I'm running late to work.  I hope it gets better from here.

Designer vines

I'm thinking of crafting a smaller scale DIY version of this lattice system design concept by Emilie Colin Garros.  The vine below looks amazing with its concentrated diagonal growth pattern.

My two little ones

This is a shameless 'I think my dogs are cute' post.  These photos were taken a few months ago when I was still at home, the mornings were colder and I would let my two little ones jump up on my bed of a morning, while I caught up on my email / Google Reader subscriptions / Pinterest images, etc. before heading to the gym.

DIY washi tape frames

Here's a simple, yet effective, DIY project for the weekend: picture frames made with washi tape.  I especially like the combination of black and white pictures with black graphic frames and simple coloured frames.  I may try making something similar in black, white and pink.

Here's another more colourful example and the source of inspiration for the project pictured above.

Christmas gift ideas: my nerdy husband-to-be

With Christmas less than two months away, I've decided it's time to start thinking about gift ideas, starting with my nerdy husband-to-be.  Harry has three obsessions (aside from me of course): cycling, technology and sci-fi/gaming.  Here are my gift ideas for each.

Above: the Tron cycling skinsuit (1) combines his love of cycling and sci-fi and has been on his wishlist for a while, so it's pretty much a definite.  He needs a new pair of cycling shades and I think these Oakley Split Jacket polarised sunglasses (2) would be good.  I also think this 'On Tour' keyring (3) is pretty cool.

Above: A nerdy mug (1) for the office, the new Google Nexus 4 (although I'm sure he will have bought this for himself before Christmas) and a case for his raspberrypi.  Don't ask, I'm still not sure what the raspberrypi does... something about a mini computer.

Above: This 'Victory of the Daleks' poster (1) is nerdy, but the design is minimal enough for me to allow it hang on a wall in my home.  Harry is planning on buying tickets to the PAX Australia gaming convention (2) in Melbourne next year (of course I'll be tagging along for the weekend too... not to the convention, but to shop and eat).  I also like the minimal and subtly nerdy design of this black leather Moleskine notebook (3) embossed with the words: "MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU."

Now to narrow it down...
